SoCal Climate Champions Grant
Opens Oct 5 2021 12:00 AM (PDT)
Deadline Nov 5 2021 11:59 PM (PDT)
Description

Funded by SoCalGas and managed by DoGoodery, the SoCal Climate Champions Grant invests up to US $400,000 annually in programs, projects, and research that address community climate solutions in Southern California. This grant program is designed to invest in a future with net zero emissions through clean, safe, and innovative ideas that put people and communities first.

Administered in collaboration with DoGoodery, the SoCal Climate Champions Grant aims to advance climate solutions in Southern California. In the context of this grants program, climate solutions refer to reducing, mitigating, and sequestering greenhouse gas emissions, shaping more climate-resilient communities, and transitioning to a safe, affordable, and reliable net zero emissions future. Specifically, we seek to strengthen Southern California’s ability to navigate climate change through resilient energy, clean air, and organic waste diversion solutions.

To this end, the Climate Champions Initiative offers a two-phase granting program, in which proposals will be assessed on their demonstrated potential as measured through an objective rubric. Our rubric and priorities are publicly available on our site in an effort to offer transparency into the process and to foster an open, encouraging atmosphere as we work together to fuel a cleaner, safer, and more reliable future.
